The real power of GeniusConnect is in the simplicity of
what is does; it provides a configurable, bi-directional link
from any ODBC compliant relational database to your email
client:
- Configurable; it is installed as an Outlook® Add-in
that can be set-up using the standard software interface
- Bi-directional; it can read from, or write back, changes
to the database whether these are made in Outlook® or
the core database application.
- Link*; can transfer / access emails, calendar items,
contacts, tasks, journals, notes.
- ODBC compliant relational database; pretty much every
commercial database out there e.g. MS Access, mySQL, MS
SQL Server, Oracle etc.
- Your email client; in this case Microsoft Outlook® but
the place where your staff spend a lot of time 'communicating'.
*If you are using Microsoft Outlook® 2000, only Contact folders
are supported.
Already have a CRM solution?
There are many reasons why an organisation might use this application, even if they have a CRM system:
PRICE - The price per user is low. At
current exchange rates a 25 user license is less than $32
per user; a 50 user license is less than $22 per user. A
single user ($180) or 5 user license (less than $140 each)
is relatively more expensive but even so, still a very a
cheap option as far as licensing goes.
SIMPLE TO USE - Your users don't have to learn another
application. Every staff member should know how to access
contact information and send an email using Outlook®.
DATA ACCESS - Not everything is in your CRM
application, not everyone has a CRM application and not every
CRM application integrates with Outlook®. Organisations
have investigated $1,000's to capture information about people
in their ERP and legacy database systems, not to forget the
time it takes for individuals just to enter their contacts
into Outlook® manually and, despite this, you can never be
sure you have the most up to date information in any one location
or at any one time.
SYNCHRONISATION - The data sources can be configured to
synchronise automatically based on the most recent update.
Organisations are always asking how to get contacts from
one user or source to another. An import / export of data
is possible but not really 'simple', it is only a snapshot
at that point in time and therefore only 'reliable' at the
time of import.
SECURE - Users only need access to Outlook®, which
they already have. You can filter the data they see and
/ or prevent them from updating your database(s) where that
is not appropriate.
FLEXIBLE - Integrate across multiple databases, provide
a central contacts list in public folders, store offline
copies of all emails - inbound and out, link to a third-party
e-marketing system; and much more!
